At Go Girl, we want women to get involved in the world around them. On our Twitter page we say that “we encourage travel, global engagement, volunteerism/activism, and general butt-kicking.”
But now, we’re not only encouraging it — we’re also living it!
Go Girl Live is a networking event for 50 powerful, globally engaged women (Go Girls of all backgrounds and experiences) to come together and meet one another in a fun environment, swap some business cards and actively support a local organization making a difference for women around the world. Each event will have a specific focus and encourage engagement in a different issue.
The two-hour after-work event features open networking, a cash bar and a workshop provided by the non-profit. Sponsors offer prize giveaways during the event and can opt to be represented in gift bags with business cards and samples to be distributed to each guest.
Admission to the event is usually around $15. The best part? 100% of the ticket price benefits the non-profit in question (that’s right, everything — from the entertainment to your drink — will be donated). A portion of each vendor’s sales will also benefit the non-profit, and a donation box will be located at the event for additional fundraising.

How to Get Involved in Future Go Girl Live Events
Go Girls: Become a Local Organizer
Go Girl Live is a creative concept that can be replicated in cities around the world. If you are interested in hosting a Go Girl Live event, fill out a local organizer application, here. Local organizers are the main event planners of Go Girl meetups large and small and take care of all logistics and coordination. They recruit guests (we recommend you invite 50 guests, but you may invite as many as you like). They also develop incredible business relationships with our partners, support a great cause, and engage directly with our community of 6,000 women in 110 countries around the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to really get involved with your local community, and it’s also a lot of fun.
Bars/Restaurants: Host an Event
If you are a local bar or event space, there has never been a better time to showcase your venue to locally engaged women from around your city. It’s also a great way to do something for the community, simply by facilitating the gathering and pouring the drinks. The event lasts about two hours and features a cash bar and food sales for 50 hungry women! You will also receive one month of free advertising on www.travelgogirl.com and in a variety of media outlets leading up to the event.
Hosts are asked to contribute something to make the event sparkle — maybe it’s a free specialty cocktail for each guest or a host of appetizers for the group. We’re happy to help you figure out just what works best for you.
Businesses: Sponsor an Event
Go Girl is always looking for event sponsors. As Go Girl Live is primarily a networking event, the women who attend are professional, proactive women who are looking to get involved in their local community and in the world around them. Being an event sponsor is a fantastic way to reach out directly to 50 of the most connected women in the city. As each event follows a specific theme, you can be certain that the women attending will be interested in what your business has to offer.
All sponsors will be featured on www.travelgogirl.com for one month prior to the event, as well as in printed programs and voice promotions during the event. The best part is, it’s for a good cause and simultaneously links powerful women together.
Ask for our sponsorship packet for more information about how to be an event sponsor.
Non-Profits: Let Go Girl Fundraise for Your Organization
Are you a non-profit doing good for women or girls in your local community or around the world? Go Girl wants to help you reach your goals. The heart of each Go Girl Live event is in the non-profit we support. We donate a portion of our ticket sales to your organization. You can also earn profits through a donation jar located at the event, a raffle (when applicable), and merchandise sales. The best part is that you open the eyes of 50 well-connected women around the city, and 50 potential volunteers. These are women interested in making a difference in your organization’s area of focus, and you hold the key to making that happen.
As our events encourage women to not only network but to actively get involved, we ask the fundraising non-profit to participate by developing a one-hour workshop for our guests. It can be a presentation, a discussion, an exhibition, a play, a concert, or whatever you think would be most appropriate and most representative of your organization. We encourage you to share the parts of your organization that you are most proud of. We also encourage you to join us in networking and mingling. Our guests will want to know more about you, your organization and your work, and the event’s theme will center around your non-profit’s focus.
